• Wake up
• Make coffee for the day
• Start the continuous loads of laundry for the household
• Bake cookies
• Make adjustments to final draft for English essay and email to Professor Katz
• Head to Park Slope
• Go to the bank (very important)

Between 1:00pm and 8:00pm

• Go to Enzo's Restaurant and pick up gift certificate
• Go to Pavilion Movie Theater and pick up raffle items
• Call Kerry to remind her about talk show responsibilities
• Go home
• Send rehearsal report email to production team for AF
• Call family that is out of town (woohoo!)
• Call aunt about advertisement in KCC Theatre Playbill
• Call Nana about...anything, really. Haven't heard from her since my birthday.
• Shower and get everything together for traveling
• Call Matt about any last-minute requests
• Call Kerry once more about meeting near UCBT
• Leave for Manhattan

Between 9:00pm and 2:00am

• Arrive at 23rd st. and 6th ave. via F line (depending on weekend delays)
• Meet Kerry near UCBT for grocery shopping
• Pick up following items for The Matt Fried Hour: 24 pack of water, cups, plates, napkins, 2 bags of Kettle Chips (lighly salted), 1 carton of cheddar cheese Goldfish, 2 bags of Tostitos chips, 2 medium jars of salsa, a cheese plate, 4-6 containers of fruit salad and 2 boxes of Quaker Chewy chocolate chip granola bars.
• Bring everything to the Peoples Improv Theater
• Help setup for The Matt Fried Hour
• Watch the time
• Help clean up after The Matt Fried Hour
• Look for a ride home or someone to split a cab with

Plugging for Others

Hey!
So, here we are. The end of another week, I think. I haven't ventured far past my neighborhood from Sunday to Wednesday. Yesterday was my first day back on campus since the previous week. Fun! After being yelled at by my boss over a list of props the director of Anne Frank requested (for the record, gold-plated frames and strawberries are not worth yelling about at 10:30 in the morning. I'm just sayin'...), I finished my classes at 3, helped set up, attended, and helped clean up the KCC Theatre Club's first meeting/social (people need to learn the art of taking leftover). Once that was finished, I got to go home and rot my mind listening to Sarah Palin speak during the VP debates! Anyone else sick of hearing about the wonderful state of Alaska? I thought so.

Let's fast forward. I've just come from the Peoples Improv Theater (PIT) in Manhattan where my favorite improv group, Centralia, had their first show in three months. These guys have been working together for 12 years. They've taken longform improv and turned it into great theatre. I HIGHLY recommend their next performance to anyone who wants to see a good show.

Speaking of the PIT, I found out earlier this evening that I'll be part of the running crew for one of their shows opening next week. Which show is this, you ask? Another improv show? Actually, no. It's a talk show! The Matt Fried Hour. (choir of angels) It opens next Saturday night at the PIT. The show will regularly feature a sketch act written by Matt and writing partner Chris O'Neil, a comedy guest, a non-comedy guest, and a musical act. The show is based on New York culture, so anyone who lives here will understand what is going on during the show (hopefully ;))

The Hints of Humor in "Anne Frank"

Day 2 of rehearsals for our production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" is over. After two days of looking over this script and coming home with more schoolwork (sorry, Lisa. I don't blog after midnight), I'm starting to pick up on certain things in this play. Yes, I know this is a tragic play, but to make the process somewhat easier, I've started looking for some humourous moments in the script. This is what I've found that may amuse the audience:

1. Anne's bubbly personality that drives all the adults insane

2. Mrs. VanDaan's stories about past boyfriends and favored luxuries

3. Anne poking fun at Peter's (lack of) social skills

4. Mr. and Mrs. VanDaan's constant fighting over the smallest issues

5. Mr. Dussel's hysterics over the cat

6. Mrs. VanDaan's fantasies about her husband and a bathtub

7. Mr. VanDaan's stress level without cigarettes and his longing for food

It may not look like much, but these small jokes certainly distract from the rather depressing themes of this play. But don't take my word for it! Come see for yourself when the show opens in November! Detalis coming soon...

"Get Up, Donovan!"

Remeber when I said that I would be blogging every single day? Well, obviously, this is turning out to be a problem because I forgot to update before I left the house yesterday, and didn't get home until 2:00 this morning. So, I'm sorry (Lisa). I'll try not to make a habit out of that.

Moving right along, let's move into the highlights of this beautiful autumn day in Brooklyn. How did the day begin, you ask? With a load of laundry and a trip to the supermarket. Fun! The morning continued with more laundry, cookie baking, cleaning, and completing homework assignments that included reading part of 'Hamlet' and 'The Sun Also Rises' (my English and Play Analysis professors must be in a state of depression.) Once all that was complete, I ventured outside the house once again. This time, in the direction of Park Slope to meet up with some Eagles fans. Those of you who know me well will understand that being the football fanatic that I am (yeah, right), this is a situation in which I have no idea what is going on, so it would be highly entertaining to anyone who enjoys seeing me try to comprehend information that is foreign to me. However, after seeing two Eagles games and countless Giants games, I think I can safely say that the Eagles fans are better company (the Giants fans tend to curse out the TV set more often than the Eagles fans). The game ended around 7:30, with the final score Steelers 6, Eagles 12. (yay!)

And with that, I prepare for our first full rehearsal tomorrow afternoon for 'The Diary of Anne Frank.' :) Go spread Joy.

P.S.-The title is a quote from my friend who invited me out to watch the game. He said it towards the end of the second half when QB, Donovan McNabb, fell over. I thought it would make an interesting title.

You New Here? Not Exactly..

My name is Christine, and I am a procrastinator. Why am I telling you this? Because, my friends, this is not my first blog post. My previous blog lasted from December '07 to June '08, and was updated once a week (for the most part.) I told no one of this because I chose not to bring it up in conversation. I used it to reflect on the events of the previous week, both positive and negative. For the most part, I wrote about any and all projects I was working on that were linked to live performance. In mid-June, I was faced with a somewhat-life-altering crisis, and I stopped blogging for three months. Even after the crisis was resolved, I had no desire to return to my weekly routine. Why, you ask? I got lazy and I had deleted the account back in June: plain and simple.

But I've decided to return to blogging because I have missed it, and, as of today, it will be part of my homework. That's right! My blogging will now be a daily routine. Remember that crisis I mentioned earlier? Well, that crisis could have been avoided if I hadn't procrastinated in an English class during the spring. As a result, I am required to see an English tutor once a week to monitor my progress. After speaking with her for the first time, one of my problems may be due to the fact that I don't write everyday. So to get into the habit of writing all the journal entries and essays for my professor, I WILL be writing everyday! (Hi Lisa.)

Since the previous blog was deleted out of frustration and anger over my current situation(it was a long summer), I've created this new account for all to see! (Sorry, Lisa. I forgot the other blog had been deleted.) So, what can you expect from my daily contributions? Lemme give you some idea: college life, family life, amazing dessert recipes(in case the title didn't give you some idea), acting, musicals, set construction, stage managing, comedy, improv, Brooklyn, Manhattan, sports, literary works, etc.

I think this is good for one day, yes? Tomorrow, I'll continue to talk about myself and the people I enjoy spending time with. Until then, I leave you with one vital piece of advice: Drive the Cadillac.
